It was made as a river pattern to copy olives but is at home on stillwater as a wet fly fished on the drift, or slowly as a nymph. Also a goof fly for catching grayling.

This fly was designed by Mr Canon William Greenwell form County Durham but was first tied by Mr James Wright about 150yrs ago.
