It was made as a river pattern to copy olives but is at home on Stillwater as a wet fly fished on the drift, or slowly as a nymph. Also a good fly for catching grayling.
This fly was designed by Mr Canon William Greenwell from County Durham but was first tied by Mr James Wright about 150yrs ago.
