A Kingsmill fly, typically considered a wet fly with a lot of movement due to its hackle design, cast it out, let it sink to the desired depth, then retrieve it with a steady, slightly erratic motion, allowing the fly to wiggle and pulse as it comes through the water column, mimicking the movement of aquatic insects; this is best done in deeper water where the fly can imitate prey rising from the depths.
